We build this tool for our own work, then keep it public because it solves a problem Pinterest deliberately leaves unsolved: there is no download button.
We save Pinterest content for a living. Reference boards for client work, recipe and workout videos for our own feeds, screenshots for mood boards. The pin was always easy to find and never easy to keep.
The alternatives were all bad in the same way. Browser extensions that broke every few weeks. Desktop installers bundled with things we did not ask for. Downloader sites that worked twice, then showed a daily-limit screen and a payment form.
So we wrote the thing we wanted: paste a pin link, get the file, close the tab. No account, no install, no upsell. That is still the whole product.
The API resolves the pin, finds the original media URL and keeps a copy of that metadata for 24 hours. The next person who pastes the same pin gets an instant answer instead of waiting for another round trip to Pinterest.
No account, no cookie to identify you, no ad or analytics script on any page. Your IP address is held in memory for up to 60 seconds so one client cannot flood the service, and then it is gone. That is the entire footprint.
We hand you the file Pinterest already serves publicly. What you do with it is a copyright question between you and the creator, so keep it to personal, educational or research use and credit the original when you repost it.
The file is streamed straight through from Pinterest's CDN to your device, and no copy is written to disk on the way. It is not re-encoded, resized or watermarked, so what you save is the resolution and bitrate the creator uploaded.
Each format has its own page because each one fails in different ways.
Saved as MP4 at whatever resolution Pinterest holds, which is usually 720p or 1080p. Very long uploads take longer to hand over, since the file is streamed rather than pre-built on our side.
Saved at the original resolution Pinterest stores. The page shows the real pixel dimensions of the file before you download it, so you know what you are getting.
Animation is kept intact. This is where most downloaders quietly fail, because the preview thumbnail is a static frame and it is easy to hand that back instead of the moving file.
Paste up to ten pin links at once, or pull a full-size profile picture. Batches are deduplicated, so the same URL twice costs you and Pinterest one request, not two.
Every number on this site is one we can point at. When we cannot measure something, we describe it instead of putting a figure on it. That is why you will not find a user count or an uptime percentage here.
There is no daily quota and no paid tier, but we do throttle bursts above 20 requests per minute per IP address. That limit exists to keep Pinterest from cutting us off. It is documented rather than hidden behind a surprise error.
One input field, one button, the file. No countdown timer before the download starts, no second page, no offer to install anything. If a design change makes the tool slower to use, we revert it.
PintDownloader is not affiliated with Pinterest and carries no advertising. We are not paid by any platform to surface particular content, which means the tool has exactly one job and one person to answer to: whoever is using it.
None of this is complicated. That is the point.
Not fewer ads, none. Open DevTools on any page and you will find no ad network, no popunder and no redirect script. It also means no ad blocker is needed to use the site.
No watermark, no overlay, no re-encode. You are saving the exact file Pinterest serves to every visitor.
No geo-blocking on our side and no VPN needed. If a specific pin is restricted in your region, that restriction comes from Pinterest, not from us.
Pinterest rewrites its page markup regularly and that breaks extractors. When it happens, the failure is visible in our health checks and we ship a fix.
The whole site is served over HTTPS with current TLS. There is no HTTP endpoint to downgrade to and no mixed content on any page.
It runs in the browser on phones and desktops alike. If you would rather have a button in the toolbar, there are free extensions for Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
We are not a content library. Nothing is hosted, stored or re-shared here. The tool passes on a file Pinterest already serves to anyone who opens the pin, and it logs no record of who asked for what.
That leaves the copyright question with you. Save content for personal, educational or research use, and when you republish someone's work, credit the creator and follow the rules of the platform you are posting to. If you are a creator and your work is being used against your wishes, tell us and we will respond within 24 hours.
No account to create and nothing to install. It takes about five seconds to find out whether it does what you need.
